At a prime location in the heart of the Port Townsend historic downtown district, The Belmont Waterfront Market is destined to become a lively indoor/outdoor marketplace with both food/restaurant* and retail. 
It is set within the historic Sterming Block building, completed in 1889, and originally housed The Belmont Saloon – a home to an eclectic mix of sea captains, cargo brokers, adventurers and merchants. 

The building facade of brick and metal fixtures as well as the hotel establishment upstairs were restored in 2018/2019. The Belmont Waterfront Market space features large windows and original exposed brick wall interior with spacious waterfront deck, sweeping views of the Admiralty Inlet, and beach access for outdoor gathering and dining. 

Its history , alongside the metal and brick architecture, lend The Belmont its distinct character.

2020 Excellence on Main Award

The Bricks & Mortar Rehabilitation award is designed to recognize building owners or programs that positively impact preservation efforts.

“This team did a remarkable job honoring the quality craftsmanship of the original building,” said Breanne Durham, Washington Main Street Director. “Their rehabilitation restored its elegance and style--the historic Belmont is an architectural gem in Port Townsend.”
We have pulled together a space plan and renderings to depict potential options for the market spaces. Each of these spaces should however be seen as individual blank canvases for the mosaic of options within the footprint of the Market.
